City tour, Sightseeing and History, History and culture

Lviv is considered one of the most attractive and accessible for tourists in Ukraine. In order to fully feel the atmosphere of this majestic city, it is worth getting to know it more deeply, and you can do this on a tour of the center, where examples of monuments of various types and eras are concentrated.

Here is the largest number of architectural monuments in Ukraine, and you will visit some of the most famous:

- Rynok Square is the heart of old Lviv and was founded in the 14th century. It is surrounded by 44 buildings, each with its own unique history and architecture, including Renaissance and Baroque styles. On the square there are fountains with sculptures of ancient gods - Neptune, Adonis, Diana and Amphitrite.

- The Latin Cathedral was built in the 14th-15th centuries and is one of the oldest Gothic churches in Ukraine. It survived many historical events, including attacks by Turks and Tatars. This is the only Ukrainian church that has the status of a small basilica and the only landmark of Lviv that has preserved the characteristic features of the Gothic style.

- The Boim Chapel is a unique monument of Lviv architecture of the 17th century in the style of Mannerism. It was built for the Boim family, wealthy burghers who were known for their charity.

- The Church of the Holy Eucharist, also known as the Dominican Cathedral, was founded in the 13th century as part of the Dominican monastery. Now it functions as a museum and a venue for cultural events.

- The Armenian Cathedral, founded in the 14th century, is one of the oldest churches in Lviv. It is noted for its unique architecture, which combines elements of the Armenian, Gothic and Renaissance styles. Numerous ancient frescoes and icons are preserved inside the cathedral.

- The Lviv National Opera, opened in 1900, is outstanding example of theater architecture in Europe in its Eastern part. It was designed by the outstanding architect Zygmunt Gorgolevsky, who used the most modern technologies at the time. The opera house has a rich interior with luxurious halls and regularly hosts plays, ballets and concerts.

- The Potocki Palace was built in the 19th century for one of the most influential Polish families, the Potocki. The architecture of the palace is made in the French Neo-Renaissance style, and its interiors are decorated with luxurious furniture and paintings. Currently, the palace houses the Lviv Art Gallery, where numerous exhibitions are held.
